your Neighbor for Santa Clara District 2

Meet Yvonne Inciarte

Yvonne is a proud Santa Clara resident who's spent her career making sure local government actually works for the people it's supposed to serve.

She's spent years working directly with our community, talking with neighbors, teachers, and older residents, and hearing firsthand what people need and what matters to them.

As a candidate for City Council, Yvonne is running to bring transparent, accountable, and forward-thinking leadership to the city she proudly calls home.

Growing Up in Santa Clara

Yvonne watched her parents work hard for everything they had, and it shaped who she is today.

The daughter of agricultural workers who met in the fields of Central Coast California, she learned the values of hard work, grit, and resilience early on. Growing up as the only daughter in her household, Yvonne went on to become a first-generation college graduate from Mission College & San Jose State University (Political Science major). This experience has fueled her commitment to expanding opportunities for working families in our region.

Yvonne understands firsthand what’s at stake in Santa Clara.

Her own parents worked hard to buy their family home here, a milestone that's out of reach for so many families today. Watching them get there taught her that stable housing, efficient city services, and strong neighborhoods are what hold a community together.

She and her husband are now building their own life in Santa Clara, and she's committed to making sure that same opportunity is still possible for the next family.

She's Worked in Government and Knows How to Get Things Done

Yvonne has spent her career as a public servant and helping our community.

Yvonne served as Director of Intergovernmental Strategy for Congressman Ro Khanna, representing one of the most diverse districts in the country. She worked closely with city and county governments, community organizations, and federal agencies to solve problems for our community. She helped run the local office, manages a team, and works directly with families from all walks of life who are struggling to get help, especially as federal funding cuts make it harder for people to access the social services they depend on.

Day to day, that means everything from untangling a stuck Social Security or an IRS case, to helping a small business owner find the right resources, to sitting down with local leaders to figure out how federal dollars can actually reach the people who need them.
